Golic, a Cleveland native, played for the Browns for seven seasons, including five playoff appearances. He was a two-time All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowl selection.
Golic was a natural at the defensive line for 14 seasons, seven of which were spent with the Browns and included five trips to the playoffs. His final four seasons were spent in Oakland before he retired in 1992, but Golic’s legacy has always remained in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, where he lives today and is a talk show radio host and football analyst.
In addition to his football career, Golic ventured into acting and became widely known for his role on the popular 1990s sitcom “Saved by the Bell: The College Years,” where he played Mike Rogers, a retired football player turned resident advisor. He also made guest appearances on various other TV shows and remained a familiar face in entertainment. His post-football career in media has helped cement his status as a beloved Cleveland icon.
