William Green, a standout running back from Boston College, was born on December 17, 1979. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft (16th overall).

Green’s rookie season in 2002 was exceptional, where he rushed for 887 yards on 243 carries with six touchdowns, earning him runner-up honors for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and being named the Browns Player of the Year.
